Memphis Depay helped Olympique Lyon in Ligue 1 on Sunday with a goal to a 4-1 victory in the home game against AS Monaco. In Serie A Juventus lost expensive points at home against Hellas Verona: 1-1.
Juventus spills points against Hellas Verona
Memphis opened the score for Lyon against Monaco in the twelfth minute. The Orange-international shot a Houssem Aouar cross hard into the left corner in a detached position.
Even before half-time, the home team extended its lead to 4-0. Karl Toko Ekambi scored twice and Aouar used a penalty kick in between.
Early in the second half, Wissam Ben Yedder did something back on behalf of Monaco from a penalty. Lyon ended the game with ten men due to a red card for Melvin Bard, who had only been in the field for eight minutes.
Thanks to the victory, Lyon occupies sixth place in Ligue 1 with thirteen points from eight games. Monaco is back in twelfth place with eleven points.

In Italy, Juventus seemed to take the lead against Hellas Verona just before half time, but the goal of Álvaro Morata was disallowed for offside after intervention by the VAR. After an hour of play, Andrea Favilli opened the score for the visitors.
Twelve minutes before the end, substitute Dejan Kulusevski scored with a slider in the left corner for the equalizer, but the victory was no longer possible for ‘De Oude Dame’.
Earlier this season, Juventus already dropped points on a visit to Crotone (1-1) and AS Roma (2-2). Due to the draw against Hellas Verona, the team from Turin drops to fifth place with nine points from five matches.
Earlier in the day, Napoli did win at newly promoted Benevento: 1-2. Lorenzo Insigne and Andrea Petagna were accurate for the formation of coach Gennaro Gattuso, who is second with eleven points. AC Milan is in the lead with twelve points and will play at home against AS Roma on Monday.
