Eintracht Frankfurt booked its first victory in this Bundesliga season on Friday evening, partly thanks to a goal from Bas Dost. The Frankfurt club was too strong for Hertha BSC with 1-3.
The 31-year-old Dost, who, just like at the start of the season last week, got a basic place from trainer Adi Hütter, made the 0-2 in the Olympia Stadium in Berlin in the 37th minute. The Dutch striker headed in a cross from Japanese Daichi Kamada. The 0-1 was a penalty from the Portuguese André Silva.
In the second half, Kamada was also responsible for Sebastian Rode’s 0-3, after which it became 1-3 due to an own goal from the Austrian Frankfurt defender Martin Hinteregger.
Dost was substituted in the 66th minute, with a 0-2 score. At Hertha, Deyovaisio Zeefuik came in halfway and just before time Daishawn Redan came on, while Karim Rekik stayed on the bench for ninety minutes. The injured Javairô Dilrosun, who belongs to the pre-selection of the Dutch national team, was missing.
Because of the victory, Eintracht is at least for the day the leader of the Bundesliga with four points from two games. Hertha can be found in the subtop with three points.
