The inhabitants of Paris and its suburbs have taken this Wednesday a monumental scare when at midmorning they heard what sounded like a big explosion.

After a few moments of confusion, the police of the French capital have clarified on the social network Twitter that the loud sound has caused it a fighter breaking the sound barrier. The Prefecture has also asked citizens not to collapse telephone lines.
