Sarmiento de Junín dismissed striker Fernando Núñez this Saturday for breaking the isolation he had to carry out after having tested positive for coronavirus on September 4.

“The Club Atlético Sarmiento, in compliance with social responsibility, reports: the disengagement from the professional staff of Fernando Núñez, due to the cause of public knowledge,” the Juninense entity reported on its social networks.

Núñez, the first player from Sarmiento’s professional team to test positive for coronavirus when the team returned to training, had to remain in mandatory isolation for 14 days.

The Mendoza striker was a “mild patient” so he had to comply with isolation in a specially set up complex, which has four rooms with six beds each, bathrooms, showers, dining room, a multipurpose room, as well as a service of nursing 24 hours. and medical controls to evaluate the evolution of each infected person.

However, Núñez was seen buying clothes in a local downtown of the city, which aroused the rejection of many neighbors.

The forward, from Godoy Cruz de Mendoza, had recently renewed his contractual relationship with Sarmiento for another 18 months.
