Former leader of Iraq Saddam Hussein Acted as a “right hand” Izzat Ibrahim al-Duri is dead, says Saddam Hussein’s daughter, according to news agency AFP.

– I extend my condolences to all Iraqis and Duri admirers in the Arab world and around the world, Raghad Saddam Hussein tweeted.

The man’s death was also reported by his Ba’ath party on Monday. The party announced the death of 78-year-old Duri, but did not say the cause of death or the place where Duri has died.

At the time, the United States promised a $ 10 million reward for killing or capturing Duri. The man was king in a deck of cards launched by the U.S. Defense Forces in 2003 to introduce Baath Party leaders.

The Baath party ruled Iraq until Saddam was overthrown. He was executed in 2006 after the United States invaded Iraq in 2003 and Saddam was arrested.

Durin was thought to have died as early as 2015 when Iraqi forces announced he had killed him. A year later, however, he appeared on a video broadcast on Saudi-owned television channel Al-Arabiya, says Telegraph.

Duri was known as an “ice man” because he came from humble circumstances and sold ice cubes. In Saddam’s rule, he had the most power right after the number one man.
