The release of Fox News executives’ text messages, emails, and other material as part of Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation lawsuit against them has shed light on the inner workings of the right-wing leaning channel. The documents show how Fox News promoted pro-Donald Trump conspiracy theories about Dominion during the 2020 presidential election, despite their own staff privately dismissing some of the election conspiracies that were promoted on-air. The text messages also reveal harsh private criticism of Donald Trump from Fox News host Tucker Carlson, despite his regular on-air support of the former president. In contrast, Fox Corporation chairman Rupert Murdoch rejected the conspiracy theories about Dominion in his January deposition, stating that he had never seen credible evidence to suggest Dominion was involved in a massive and coordinated effort to steal the 2020 presidential election.
Rupert Murdoch debunked election conspiracy theories, as revealed in Dominion lawsuit documents, in English.
