Roland Garros 2020 | Rafael Nadal vs Novak Djokovic: schedule and where to watch the French Open live on TV

The tournament is defined between the top two seeds. The Spanish is the big favorite: he is going for his 13th title. The Serbian, for the second.

Spain’s Rafael Nadal and Serbian Novak Djokovic face off in the 2020 Roland Garros men’s final, which is disputed on clay courts in the French Open complex, located in the city of Paris.

The match will be played from 10:00 (Argentine time) at the Philippe Chatrier stadium of the Roland Garros complex, with live televising and ESPN live (Channels 102 of Cablevisión and 621 of DirecTV).

Nadal is on his way to his thirteenth title at Roland Garros and his twentieth in Grand Slam tournaments, Djokovic seeks his major number 18 but barely second in parisian brick dust.

The Spaniard, if he wins, would equal Roger Federer’s record, who has 20 conquests in the biggest tournaments.

On his way to the semifinals, complications for Djokovic started in the second week. In the first three rounds, he eliminated the Swede Mikael Ymer (80) 6-0, 6-2 and 6-3; the Lithuanian Ricardas Berankis (66) by 6-1, 6-2 and 6-2; and Colombian Daniel Galán (153) 6-0, 6-3 and 6-3.

From the round of 16 he had the seeds crossed: he beat Russian Karen Khachanov (16) 6-4, 6-3 and 6-3; Spain’s Carreño Busta (18) 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 and 6-4; and Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3, 6-2, 5-7, 4-6 and 6-1.

On his way to the final, Nadal was overwhelming and did not lose a single set. He beat Belarusian Egor Gerasimov (83 in the ranking) by 6-4, 6-4 and 6-2; the American Mackenzie McDonald (260) 6-1, 6-0 and 6-3; Italian Stefano Travaglia (74) 6-1, 6-4 and 6-0; American Sebastian Korda (213) 6-1, 6-2 and 6-2; the Italian Jannik Sinner (75) by 7-6 (4), 6-4 and 6-1; and Argentine Diego Schwartzman 6-3, 6-3 and 7-6 (0).

The Serbian, 33 years old and number 1 in the world, dominates the personal confrontation against Nadal (34, number 2), which is the most bulky in the history of professional tennis, with 55 matches played between them before this final.

Since the 2006 Roland Garros quarter-finals, the first clash between the two, the record favors Novak Djokovic for 29 wins against Rafael Nadal’s 26.

This match will also allow to establish a tiebreaker in Grand Slam tournaments finals, since the ninth Rafa-Nole will break the 4 to 4 that they accumulate until this October 11, 2020.
