The French David Gaudu (Groupama FDJ) has prevailed in the seventeenth stage of the Vuelta that has been contested between Sequeros and Alto de La Covatilla, of 178.2 kilometers, in which the Slovenian Primoz Roglic he kept the red jersey for only 25 over Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz (Ineos).
Gaudu, a 24-year-old Breton, won at La Farrapona and once again showed off alone at the Alto de la Covatilla, where he entered celebrating his double with a time of 4h.54.32, at an average of 36.3 kms / hour).
In the group of favorites, Carapaz attacked 4 from goal, releasing the leader Primoz Roglic, but the Ecuadorian, who was at 45 seconds overall in the red jersey, he could only file 20.
The leader had a unexpected help to keep the red: the Movistar. Social networks exploded when they saw the attitude of the Spanish team, from which Carapaz did not come out on good terms in 2019.
Thus, Roglic is the virtual winner of the Vuelta for the second consecutive year in the absence of the Madrid processing stage. He will be accompanied on the podium by Richard Carapaz and British Hugh Carthy (Education First), second and third respectively.
👏👏 You have done it again, @rogla!
