A technical team from the official TV broadcasts will do an inspection this Monday and there are positive signs that they will enable it.
This Monday will be a key day to know if River will finally be able to play at home in its training sports field during the Professional Soccer League Cup. A technical team of the company that is in charge of the production of television broadcasts will make an inspection at the Núñez club property in Ezeiza, to determine if it is feasible to broadcast an official match. Y there are great chances that it will be enabled.
River’s request to play as a local on his property was stagnant, but it began to advance rapidly after the meeting held a couple of days ago by the president of the Núñez institution, Rodolfo D’Onofrio, and that of the AFA, Claudio Wall.
Clarín learned some details of that meeting and revealed that the head honcho of the Argentine soccer motherhouse told River that he had no problems with Marcelo Gallardo’s team playing in Ezeiza. And he threw the ball on television. “They are the ones who do not want to,” he alleged Chiqui.
More than 10 days ago, Marcelo Tinelli, president of the Professional Football League, had told D’Onofrio that the idea of the entity and the AFA was to abide by the same provisions as Conmebol for their tournament in terms of stadium structures.
But in the last hours, there were more talks with the television host and he spoke in the same direction as Tapia. Then, the LPF would not put obstacles for River to play in Ezeiza, although it will send the Stadium Commission to make a review (its members would go on Tuesday). In this way, the one that will define will be the TV.
In the inspection, the technicians will first make a tour of the facilities of the property and then they will review the main court, where River would play the games against Banfield, Godoy Cruz and Rosario Central, the three rivals in their group, and then those who remain in the next phase. There they will find a new booth structure, located in front of the substitute benches, and they will see where it is convenient to locate the cameras. On the side with the substitute benches, there are two small stands.
Further, lighting towers will be tested, given that the match against Banfield is scheduled for Sunday at 21.15. There are eight towers that surround the court with 1,500 lumen LED lights, the same power as those of the Monumental. Meanwhile, River promised to place posters around the court with the inscription of its sponsors.
It is worth remembering that River plays the Copa Libertadores home games on the Independiente court. But in Núñez they do not want to know anything about continuing to rent another stadium because they understand that they are making a very great economic effort to, in a time of a global economic crisis, refurbish the Monumental and help improve the product of Argentine football.
After the meeting that D’Onofrio had with Tapia at the AFA property in Ezeiza (in which he also participated Pablo Toviggino, right hand of Chiqui), the situation turned around. What was a negative, this Monday could be transformed into a positive response. And if that happens, River will do the same as Real Madrid did in the Spanish League, which ended the 2019/2020 season (of which it was champion) at the stadium Alfredo Di Stéfano, located in its sports field in Valdebebas.
