Richard Barnett of Arkansas found guilty on all charges in Capitol insurrection trial, per 40/29 News.

Richard Barnett guilty of Capitol insurrection charges.

On February 11th, 2021, Richard Barnett of Gravette, Arkansas, was found guilty on all charges in his Capitol insurrection trial. Barnett was one of the rioters who stormed the Capitol building on January 6th, 2021. He was seen in photos and videos inside the Capitol, with his feet propped up on the desk of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

40/29 News reported that Barnett was found guilty on all counts, including “knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building without lawful authority” and “violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds”. Yahoo News reported that the jury found Barnett guilty on all counts, including “knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building without lawful authority”, “violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds” and “theft of public money, property, or records”.

KFSM 5News reported that Barnett was also found guilty of “theft of public money, property, or records”. The Independent reported that Barnett was found guilty of entering the Capitol building without lawful authority and disorderly conduct.

Barnett is one of the first people to be found guilty of their involvement in the Capitol insurrection. The guilty verdicts serve as a reminder that the events of January 6th were a serious crime and that those responsible will be held accountable.
