This was stated by the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova, noting the deterioration of the situation with the incidence of COVID-19 in Russia. At the same time, according to her, there is no explosive growth in the incidence in the regions. According to the official, strict adherence to security measures, and not the coming cold, will help to avoid a lockdown.
By words Head of department, the only way to improve the epidemiological situation is to impeccably adhere to all preventive measures. If the rules that have been introduced in the subjects of the federation are unconditional for everyone, it will be possible to avoid a lockdown, Popova stressed.
First of all, it is necessary to wear masks, wash hands and maintain social distance, as well as not to visit crowded places, if there is no “absolutely incredible need” for this to take care of yourself and your loved ones, the head of Rospotrebnadzor said.
Popova also urged not to count on the fact that with the onset of cold weather the coronavirus will disappear or weaken. According to her, viruses are “very cold-loving” and live in -70 degrees.
“Therefore, there is no reason to expect that everything will pass by itself with the onset of winter,” the chief sanitary doctor said.
Earlier, on November 18, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova reported that in Russia more than 80% of hospital beds for patients with coronavirus are occupied. In 46 regions, the workload of hospitals exceeds the average Russian level. The most critical situation was in Chuvashia, the Oryol region and Sevastopol, where less than 5% of free beds remained.
