Red Bull may be washed Max Verstappenin alongside another driver with a surprise name. Looking after the energy drink company’s F1 stable Helmut Marko says the stable is watching Nico Hulkenbergia and Sergio Perez.

The duo is currently on the free market. Perez loses his seat at Racing Point (Aston Martin) To Sebastian Vettel, Hülkenberg was relegated as early as last season. The German has been driving for three racing weekends at Racing Point due to the actual illnesses of the racing drivers.

Marko said earlier that Red Bull had contacted Hülkenberg when Alexander Albonin the first coronavirus test during the Eifel race weekend was unclear. Eventually, Albon got clean papers at the health check.

On the track, however, the Thai driver has been in trouble. At the Nürburgring, the account was suspended and the pace was nowhere near Verstappen, who was second. Albon’s place in the stable has been in danger for a long time.

The story continues after the picture.

Marko is known as a person who doesn’t give drivers a second chance. The pressure towards Albon is growing all the time.

– On a good day, Alex will be able to be at Max’s level. He’s still young, but we know that if he can’t stand the pressure, we can’t keep him in our ranks, Marko shook in an interview with Sport1, according to

Marko’s message is clear. Albon, who has collected 64 World Championship points this season, is forced to raise his level.

– We can contact drivers on the free market. Hülkenberg and Perez are on offer. The question is, how far would they be from Max?

Problems with your program

For years, Red Bull has relied on the results of its own junior program in allocating team seats to its number one team. In addition to Verstappen Pierre Gasly, Daniil Kvjat, Daniel Ricciardo and Vettel first got their spurs on Sister Stable Toro Rosso (now AlphaTauri) before stepping into the bigger boots.

Washing Perez or Hülkenberg would be a change in the philosophy of the stable. On the other hand, the stable may be forced into it.

AlphaTaur is currently driven by Kvjat and Gasly, both of whom have already driven and flopped Red Bull once. Gasly has been excellent this season, but the man’s ballast is an Albon-like spanking alongside Verstappen last season.

Red Bull’s junior mill continues to grind even at lower levels. Juri vips and Yoki Tsunoda are pushing for AlphaTaur, so more drivers will be disappointed when sharing seats for next season.
