With the second overall pick in the latest draft, forward Quinton Byfield is scheduled to make his debut in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.
Byfield has not yet been baptized in the National Hockey League, unlike Quebec’s Alexis Lavernier (the New York Rangers’ first choice) and Germany’s Tim Stuzler (Ottawa Senator drafted third name).
The 18-year-old Ontario still played 30 games with the Ontario Reign in the American League and accumulated 20 points, including 8 goals.
Before facing the Ducks, the Kings had only 10 games by the end of the season. They scored 42 points in the standings after 46 games and are likely to miss the playoffs.
