The flagship among Audi sports SUVs will be available to order shortly the mighty Q8 TFSIe. With almost 5 meters in length and a coupe-style image that combines dynamism and luxury in equal parts, the basis of this new model is in a next generation hybrid system based on a 6-cylinder gasoline engine in V and 340 horsepower that is complemented by an electric one to give two levels of power.

Do you like sporty SUVs? With the Q5 Sportback, Audi already offers three

The most powerful version is the Q8 60 TFSIe, which offers no less than 462 hp and has very high performance, as evidenced by the fact that it iscapable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km / h in just 5.4 seconds and reaching 240 km / h top speed. In electric mode it can travel 45 kilometers (WLTP cycle).

For its part, the “access” version, the Q8 55 TFSIe, stays at 381 horsepower total power, and in this case the electric autonomy rises up to 47 km.

The two mechanics are associated with a 8-speed tiptronic transmission and the always efficient quattro all-wheel drive system, It also has a central differential that automatically adjusts the force in each axle, up to 85% in front and 70% in the rear, depending on the needs.

Both variants work by default in modo “Hybrid”, with preponderance of the electric motor at low speeds and as long as much power is not needed, which arrives like a torrent when the two mechanics are joined. The other modes are “Hold”, which tries to maintain the maximum charge of the battery for use when needed, y “Charge”, that makes the most of driving dynamics to regain energy.

Besides this, the versions with more equipment have the Audi drive Select, which allows a choice between seven driving profiles: comfort, efficiency, auto, dynamic, individual, offroad and allroad, which adjust the adaptive air suspension, engine, transmission and steering to the selected driving style.

Electrified vehicle sales continue to grow in Europe

As usual in any Audi model, the level of equipment is very high, especially in terms of technology and safety, and the only thing that this version “loses” with respect to the thermal variants is space in the trunk, since the battery is located underneath. In any case, the available volume is 505 liters, capacity that expands to 1,625 if second-row seats are folded down.

The price of the new Q8 55 TFSIe part of the 86,000 euros, while the version 60 TFSIe rises to 96,700 euros.
