PSV and sponsor Philips extended their long collaboration on Wednesday by at least ten years. The new contract will run until 2031 and will yield the 24-time national champion reportedly 25 million euros.
The new agreement is special, because Philips was closely involved in the founding of PSV in 1913. At 107 years, it is the longest partnership in the world.
In addition to the million deal, the agreement also means that the Philips Stadium will keep its name at least until 2031. In addition, PSV and the company will collaborate on innovation.
“Philips is undergoing a massive transformation into a health technology company. Their expertise and innovations in medical technology are vital,” said PSV CEO Toon Gerbrands.
“We are also applying these to take the performance and health of our players, staff and employees to an even higher level. This means that our partnership may be closer than ever before.”
For many years, Philips was the shirt sponsor of PSV, which came to an end in 2016 to 34 years. The name of Brainport Eindhoven is now on the shirt, a group of partners to which Philips will belong at least until 2026.
