For 30 minutes, Panathinaikos OPAP collaborated in the away friendly game with Ritas, reached the difference of over 20 points and showed another picture of progress. The hosts only managed to reduce to 75-67, a score with which they lost.
Panathinaikos OPAP found rhythm in its attack from the first minutes and with August, Papagiannis and Foster shouting “present” they managed to make a difference (11-17, 7 ‘). Andrew Goodlock took matters into his own hands for Rita, but Panathinaikos OPAP kept the lead until the end of the first ten minutes for 19-22.
Demetrius Jackson took efforts and the hosts equalized the match (24-24, 12 ‘). The reaction of Panathinaikos OPAP was immediate with Nedovic and Foster, but also the defense at very high levels of efficiency (24-30, 15 ‘). Papagiannis was a point of reference for his team offensively, with the difference reaching double digits (28-39, 18 ‘). The double-digit “green” lead remained until the end of the first half for 31-41.
In the first minutes of the second half, Nemanja Nedovic took action. The Serbian guard with personal actions raised the difference for his team (34-54, 24 ‘). Rita tried to close the gap with Goodlock, but the “clover” kept full control with Jackson (41-59, 26 ‘). The players of Giorgos Vovoras managed their lead and kept the difference at high levels for the 45-64 of the third period.
Rita’s defense managed to block Panathinaikos OPAP and with Demetrius Jackson taking action the difference was reduced to single digits (55-64, 33 ‘). The “greens” continued not to find solutions in the attack and this was exploited by Rita, who came even closer with Jackson and Goodlock (61-66, 36 ‘). Kaselakis and Bohoridis responded immediately, raising the difference for the “clover” (61-71, 37 ‘).
Panathinaikos OPAP continued the tests, with Vovoras giving time to Diplaros, Kalaitzakis, in the periphery and kept the lead until the end, taking the victory, completing in the best way his presence in Lithuania.
