On the day that the Montreal Canadiens encountered a streak streak and Patrick Roy initiated his return to the NHL, one might wonder whether Marc Bergevin’s position was in danger.
Since joining CH in 2012, Bergevin has never stopped repeating the importance of a leader in building a winning team. Therefore, this is why he traded PK Subban for the services of veteran guard Shea Weber in 2016 and signed a lucrative long-term contract with goalkeeper Carey Price in 2017. However, the performance of these two pillars will take time.
Unfortunately, this strategy did not yield results, and Pederno believed that the path that Bergvin took would ultimately not be the right choice: “Mark Bergvin bet all his marbles on two people: goalkeeper Carey Price and defender Shea Weber and these two players did not help his career, far from it.”
