Police confirm beheading of Imo Sole Administrator after N6m ransom received. Investigation underway to find hoodlums.

On Monday, the Imo State Police Command confirmed the beheading of the Sole Administrator of the Ideato North Local Government Area of the state, Chris Ohizu. Ohizu was kidnapped on Friday and his abductors reportedly collected N6m as ransom before carrying out the gruesome act. Video clips of his beheading were published on his WhatsApp status, showing him tied and half-naked before his execution.

The police spokesperson, Henry Okoye, said the command had raised a team of officers to clamp down on the suspects and urged the public to provide credible information and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station. He noted that the command was already on the trail of the hoodlums before the “obscene video” surfaced online.

The tragic incident has sparked outrage in the state and across the nation. It is a reminder of the dangers posed by criminal activities and the urgent need for improved security measures to protect the lives and properties of citizens.

The Nigerian government and security agencies must take proactive steps to ensure the safety of citizens and ensure justice is served for the victims of such heinous crimes. This includes increasing the presence of security personnel in vulnerable areas, improving intelligence gathering and ensuring the perpetrators of such acts are brought to justice.

The beheading of Chris Ohizu is a heinous crime and a stark reminder of the dangers posed by criminal activities. It is essential that the Nigerian government and security agencies take proactive steps to protect citizens and bring justice to the victims. Only then can we ensure that such tragedies are prevented in the future.
