(Manchester United-Arsenal 0-1) Paul Pogba (27) made an unnecessary penalty kick, and Ole Gunnar Solskjærs (47) 100th match as Manchester United manager ended in loss.
Arsenal deservedly won and climbed the table, while Manchester United is number 15 – and is still without a win at Old Trafford this season. Solskjær’s team has only one point in their first four home games in the league – the worst since 1972-73.
They have three losses in a total of six league games so far and stand with only seven points. It is the worst since the start of 2013-14 under David Moyes.
The setback goal was unnecessarily seen by Manchester United eyes:
Héctor Bellerín was on his way out of the penalty area when he was fouled by United’s Paul Pogba just over 20 minutes before the end. The ref is taking no bull today and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
– It is simply clumsy of Pogba, stated Solveig Gulbrandsen in TV 2 studio.
– That table does not look good for Solskjær, continued colleague Brede Hangeland in TV 2 studio.
Ole Gunnar Solskjær has a winning percentage of 56 in his 100 games as United boss. The goal difference is 186–104.
In comparison, Ferguson had a winning percentage of 48 in his first 100 United games. Van Gaal had 52, while Mourinho scored 62.
100 games as United manager is almost twice as many as David Moyes, who got only 51 games, while Louis van Gaal had 103 and José Mourinho 144.
– It has gone very fast. It’s my dream job, Solskjær said before the match.
