Juventus still does not know whether the team can have Cristiano Ronaldo again at the Champions League match against FC Barcelona on Wednesday. The star player will have to test negative for the corona virus in the next 24 hours in order to play against his rival Lionel Messi.
Juventus has problems in the back
On October 13 it was announced that Ronaldo had been tested positive for the corona virus with the national team of Portugal. Since then, the attacker has been in isolation and has been tested several times. The result was always positive.
“Tonight we will hear the latest test result. Let’s hope for a negative result,” Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo said at his press conference on Tuesday.
It is not yet certain whether Ronaldo will be in the base if he is virus-free. “If he tests negative, we will then decide what to do. It will not be easy to play a top match right away after 15 days of inactivity,” Pirlo said.
35-year-old Ronaldo has not played 33-year-old Messi since he left Real Madrid for Juventus in 2018. “Messi and Ronaldo are an important part of the history of football”, Pirlo praised the vedettes.
“They’ve been doing extraordinary things for 15 years and although they are getting older, they are still at the top. I can only hope that tomorrow Messi is not having his best night.”

Pirlo received good news about Weston McKennie two days ago: the American defender has recovered from the corona virus.
“He could play and we need him”, said Pirlo, who does not have access to defenders Matthijs de Ligt, Giorgio Chiellini and Alex Sandro, while Leonardo Bonucci is still a question mark due to an injury. “Tomorrow we will see if he is fit enough.”
FC Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman also lacks a number of permanent employees. Gerard Piqué is suspended and Marc-André ter Stegen and Philippe Coutinho are missing with injuries.
Juventus-Barcelona starts on Wednesday at 9 p.m. and is led by referee Danny Makkelie.
