On Friday, the Montreal Canadiens transferred the name of Paul Byron to the Montreal Canadiens for the third time.
In 36 games in 2020-21, Byron hit the target four times and provided 8 assists for a total of 12 points. Frank-Ontarian has been playing for Habs since October 2015, when general manager Marc Bergevin asked him to exempt him from the Calgary Fire.
In addition to Byron, the respective clubs also waived Ced Turris (Edmonton Oilers), Nikita Gusev (New Jersey Devil), and Kenneth Appleby ( The names of New York Islanders) and Clark Bishop (Ottawa Senator).
In Gusev’s case, the Devil intends to terminate his contract, which means that if no other national league team requires him before Saturday noon, then he will become a free agent. The 28-year-old Russian has 2 goals and 3 assists in 20 games this season, scoring 5 points. Currently, his transaction value per campaign is $4.5 million. The contract is valid until the end of the season.
