Today it became known that the capital has crossed the psychological mark of more than 1,000 infections per day. Over the past week, the daily number of hospitalized people has increased by about 30%.

“The Operations Headquarters confirms the information that Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin sent letters to the heads of large companies with a request to return some of the employees to remote work,” the Operational Headquarters Telegram channel said.

Several media outlets report that the letter was sent to 5,000 companies.

Earlier today, the Operational Headquarters reiterated the need to wear masks, especially in public places and transport. “Reduce the number of contacts and treat older people with care,” the message said.

Even last Thursday, the capital’s authorities linked the increase in the number of detected cases of infection with an increase in the number of tests carried out. “If we are talking about an increase in the number of detected patients with coronavirus, then this is primarily due to the large number of tests,” Sobyanin said.
