Elías Már Ómarrson shot Excelsior with two hits past FC Dordrecht on Friday in the Kitchen Champion Division: 1-3. FC Volendam blamed itself against ten men of Jong FC Utrecht (0-1) and FC Eindhoven-Helmond Sport did not score.

Shortly before half-time, Ómarsson scored twice from close range after a corner kick. The Icelandic striker thus canceled Kevin Vermeulen’s opening goal in the Rijnmond derby. Shortly before the end, Thomas Oude Kotte secured the victory by scoring the third goal.

Ómarsson is already on seven goals after three games in the Kitchen Champion Division. Only two clubs (Cambuur and NAC Breda) were more accurate than the Excelsior striker on his own.

Excelsior, which earlier on Friday reported two more corona infections within the selection and staff, comes in six points and climbs to fourth place thanks to the victory. ‘Dordt’ gets stuck with one point in the lower regions.

Young FC Utrecht took its first points of the season by knocking on De Dijk Volendam. Hicham Acheffay scored the only goal halfway through the second half.

At that moment, the promise team was already with ten men. Midfielder Oussama Alou immediately got red after a nasty foul. Volendam, which scored no fewer than 31 goal attempts, started the season weak with one point from two matches.

FC Eindhoven and Helmond Sport both come on four points from three duels. The East Brabant derby in the Jan Louwers Stadium ended in 0-0.

Later on Friday evening (kick-off 9 p.m.) three more games are scheduled in the Kitchen Champion Division. Leader SC Cambuur takes on Go Ahead Eagles, the promises of AZ and PSV play against each other and NEC receives Young Ajax.
