Formula One champion Mick Schumacher could sit in Antonio Giovinazzi’s Alfa Romeo at next week’s Eifel Grand Prix, while Callum Ilott will drive at Haas in the same training session. It has not yet been decided here to replace Romain Grosjean or Kevin Magnussen.
Robert Svarcman has to wait a little longer for the introduction, he can lead the first free practice in the F1 season finale in Abu Dhabi, but he doesn’t know which team yet.
Ferrari takes the preparation of its young people seriously, they can sit in an F1 car in Fiorano as early as Wednesday. All three will be able to drive Ferrari’s 2018 car, the Ferrari SF71H. “We organized this test to make our three best young people as prepared as possible for a very special occasion for them,” said Laurent Mekies, Ferrari’s sports director, who is also in charge of the pilot academy.
“They get a chance to get acquainted with a Formula 1 car, which is much more complicated than they are currently used to. Mick, Callum and Robert have already proven this year’s Formula 2 season, this test will be another step in their training. ”

“Next week, Nürburgingen will be my first F1 participation. I’m really happy, I can’t wait to drive in front of a domestic audience, ”Mick Schumacher wrote on Twitter, and of course thanked Ferrari and Alfa Romeo.
“There’s no doubt that Mick is one of the great talents,” Alfa Romeo team boss Frederic Vasseur responded to the news. “His recent results have also shown this. Fast, but he behaves mature and thoughtfully in the car – these are the criteria for a future champion. ”
