Police suspect the 43-year-old Christian B. child abuse in Portugal. The suspected act took place in April 2007.
– In this case, he is believed to have shown himself in a sexual, offensive manner to a 10-year-old German child on the beach, a German prosecutor Hans-Christian Wolters comment to the media.
Wolters could not say whether the suspect had masturbated against the child or appeared naked in front of him.
– In Germany, this is the sexual abuse of a child, and that is why we are investigating. He’s just a suspect, we haven’t filed charges, so I can’t say anything about how this investigation will end.
Christian B is the main suspect in the famous case of 3-year-old Madeleine McCann. Madeleine was abducted from her vacation home on May 3, 2007.
The suspected victim, who is now a 23-year-old woman, was reportedly playing with other children after being approached by a naked man. He was saved by the intervention of other adults and his father had tried to catch the escaped factor.
The case could not be resolved at that time. After Madeleine’s suspicion came to light, her mother contacted police.
– These things must be considered separately. Although the case occurred in the same area and even though it was 2007, Madeleine had nothing to do with the case other than the name of the suspect, Prosecutor Wolters recalled.
Between 1996 and 2007, Christian B lived in the Algarve region of Portugal. She has denied her involvement in Madeleine’s disappearance.
According to Wolters, investigators “of course,” investigate possible other crimes against Christian B and prosecute them if necessary. The man is currently sitting in prison in Germany for drug offenses and the rape of a 72-year-old American woman from Portugal. An appeal against extradition orders is pending against the latter offense, which could invalidate the seven-year prison sentence imposed for the 2005 offense.
Christian B, surname Brückner, was deported from Italy to Germany under a drug investigation two years ago. The German media uses only the first letter of the last name for him in accordance with local publicity laws.
