Yvon Mvogo counts heavily on the goal against PSV against FC Groningen on Sunday. The keeper, who came over from RB Leipzig, committed an error in the second half, which led to the equalizer.
With a 0-1 lead, Mvogo gave a bad pass to Jorrit Hendrix, after which Tomás Suslov was able to score. The blunder had no major consequences, as PSV eventually won 1-3.
“It was my fault. I should never have given that ball. We want to build from the defense, but this is my fault,” said 26-year-old Mvogo in front of the camera. FOX Sports.
“Sometimes you unfortunately make mistakes, that makes you stronger. I am happy with the win, but we could have kept the zero. We train a lot in situations like this, but in this case I should have given a long ball.”
Mvogo is rented from Leipzig for two seasons. The new PSV coach Roger Schmidt wanted the Swiss to join, because he is known as a goalkeeper who can play football well.
PSV is one of eight Eredivisie clubs to win their first game of the season. Ajax, Feyenoord, VVV-Venlo, FC Twente, Heracles Almelo, sc Heerenveen and Vitesse also got off to a good start.
