His personal physician, Leopoldo Luque, reported that the new studies were excellent.
The steps are forward and the initial fear gives way to optimism. Diego Maradona continues with a favorable evolution after the operation he had to undergo on Tuesday for a subdural hematoma on his head.
“As a novelty of the day, we did a control CT scan, which was excellent. I’m very happy. He already wants to go, he can walk, he talks to me, it shows much more clearly. Recovery is excellent. My idea is that you stay until tomorrow but you can even leave today. Let’s hope he stays until tomorrow ”.
As things usually happen in the life of Diego Maradona, this new chapter occurred in a dizzying way. After suffering a depressive picture that worsened in recent weeks and even more so in the context of his 60th birthday, the head and body of the 86th world champion in Mexico needed to pause.
That is why both his personal doctor and part of his inner circle decided to admit him to the Ipensa clinic in La Plata on Monday. Routine studies confirmed that he was anemic and needed to be stabilized. But when the exhaustive examinations arrived, the concern grew when detecting through an MRI that Diego had a subdural hematoma at the base of the brain.
There, the transfer to the Olivos Clinic was activated and the immediate intervention that was carried out successfully on Tuesday night.
On Wednesday the first positive signs were already given after the intervention. Luque admitted that he had been pleasantly surprised by the way Diego had started his recovery.
“Most complications arise very early. The 24 hours are the most critical and there are the most frequent complications. That did not happen and I am happy,” the doctor summarized.
“You have to be cautious, because Diego is undergoing a postoperative neurosurgery, but his recovery amazes us,” Luque insisted. “The mood is a good symptom. He has no neurological compromise. We are optimistic.”
