The song ‘Ne volin jugo’, performed by Neno Belan with the vocal group Cambi at the 23rd evenings of Dalmatian chanson this summer, and for which he won the first prize of the jury for the first time in his career in Šibenik, was also told visually.
The director of the video, Matko Petrić, set the story for this blues song on the island of Biševo and in the small Dalmatian town of Omiš.
As Neno says, his colleague and friend Jurica Pađen enthusiastically says about the video: “The top of aesthetics in the atmosphere of impressionism”.
“Neno and I started the story of the video at the beginning of the summer. His idea was to connect the young and now somewhat less young Belan. My first idea was quite different from the final result. As we met a lot during the summer and planned to shoot, so somehow the idea itself changed and adapted to the new locations we chose. The shooting on Biševo was hot and windy, and in Omiš we were inflated, as it should be for a video about the south. For me as a Komiža South, it is especially inspiring and it was not difficult for me to “immerse” myself in the atmosphere of the song. I worked a lot on the video and somehow I am very satisfied with the result “- said Matko Perić.
Minimalism, the exclusion of colors, nature and the whole environment with a few actors, influenced the strength of the blues that Boris Hrepić Hrepa interprets on the harmonica. The trumpet that Šime Glavina blows into further elevates the atmosphere and blends perfectly with the rest of Belan’s, once again exceptional arrangements.
The cast consisting of Neno Belan, vocal group Cambi, Boris Hrepić Hrepa and Šime Glavina, had a great time in the blues story, which takes us into the atmosphere of a special Adriatic “state of mind”.
