NBA Draft 2020: one by one, which are the most coveted players by the franchises

Among the main ones there are a majority of young people under 20 years of age. And three of them already have experience as professionals.

Sixty new players will add the National Basketball Association (NBA) with the Draft that will take place this Wednesday 18, including there is a group that emerges as the most coveted by franchises that they will have the opportunity to choose in the first positions for the next season of the American league.

Minnesota Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors, Charlotte Hornets, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Atlanta Hawks, Detroit Pistons, New York Knicks, Washington Wizards, Phoenix Suns, San Antonio Spurs, Sacramento Kings y New Orleans Pelicans are the teams that did not qualify for the playoffs last season that will have, in that order, the first selections of the new talents.

The remaining franchise that did not access the last postseason was the Memphis Grizzlies, which nevertheless gave that option to the Boston Celtics to close the agreement they had reached in 2015 with the transfer of forward Jeff Green from the Massachusetts team to the Tennessee team.

Although each of the selections will be known in the same scenario in which the Draft will take place, the ESPN studios in the city of Bristol as part of the health emergency due to the coronavirus pandemic, there are projections based on negotiations that executives come performing with the basketball players and their agents since the official period of negotiations established by the NBA within the official protocol was opened.

Seven of the top ten prospects in pre-draft estimates are from players born in 2001, two are from 2000 and the remainder is from 1998.

Without a clear number one, this year’s Draft presents a much more open scenario than in previous editions, which is enhanced by having teams like the Timberwolves or Warriors at the top, about which there are even rumors that they could end up transferring your pick.

LaMelo Ball

He is indicated as the most talented of the three sons of the media LaVar Ball, above Lonzo, who has already been in the NBA for three seasons and with an irregular step, so much so that the Los Angeles Lakers included him in the change for which he became Anthony Davis (from New Orleans Pelicans).

LaMelo, 19 years old and two meters tall, already has a professional record since his father sent him to play first in Lithuania (with his other brother, LiAngelo) and last season he took part in the Australian League.

The youngest of the Balls is a point guard who has as much capacity to surprise as playmaker as well as to exceed in the luxuries. He does not like physical contact and gives advantages in defense. His numbers in 12 games for the Australian Illawrra Hawks were excellent: 17 points, 7.6 rebounds and 6.8 assists in 31.3 minutes.

Having signed contracts as a professional makes him automatically eligible for the NBA Draft. It is the favorite to be number one.

Anthony Edwards

This 19-year-old shooting guard from the University of Georgia is one of the candidates to be number one in the Draft. For this, Minnesota should choose him, a team that in February released Canadian Andrew Wiggins to add point guard D’Angelo Russell (from the Golden State Warriors) and has a dominant center like the Dominican Karl Anthony Towns.

With 1.96 meter and 102 kilos, His lack of judgment in decision-making during the game raises questions, but his potential is very attractive because he offers both distance shooting and a lot of ease to break penetrations. In his final college season, he averaged 19.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 40 percent shooting from the field..

Deni Avdija

Only 19-year-old Israeli, he has just been elected the best player in the league in his country as a figure for Maccabi Tel Aviv, the club that formed him in the Inferiores. He was also featured in the last two titles in the Eurobasket under 20 achieved by his selected team: in 2018 he averaged 12.7 points and 6.4 rebounds, and in 2019 he contributed 18.4 points, 8.3 rebounds and 5.3 to stay with the MVP.
