Competition in the world of streaming it is getting stronger and companies want to attract the largest number of users. In this context, ViacomCBS announced the launch of Paramount + in 2021. It is a subscription service that will land in Latin America.

The news comes after a restructuring of the company, which already had a platform with On demand content called CBS All Access, for which users paid $ 6 a month for an ad-supported version, while others pay more than $ 10 for an ad-free experience. It was launched in 2014 and was one of the first platforms to enter the market.

With this new brand, ViacomCBS seeks to make the name of Paramount, one of the most iconic studios in Hollywood history, can compete with big name services like Netflix, HBO Max, Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV, among others.

It will have the extensive catalog of Paramount Pictures, made up of 30 thousand films, in addition to the content produced by the company’s channels: CBS, BET, Comedy Central, MTV y Nickelodeon, among others.

“Paramount is an iconic and storied brand, loved by consumers around the world, and is synonymous with world-class quality, integrity and storytelling,” said Bob Bakish, president and CEO of ViacomCBS, in a press release.

The company also announced that there will be exclusive productions of the platform. They are between them The Offer, a fiction that will show behind the scenes of The Godfather. Michael Tolkin is in charge of writing it, drawing on the experiences of producer Al Ruddy.

Lioness is a spy drama created by Taylor Sheridan, inspired by the CIA show. You will follow a young sailor recruited to befriend the daughter of a terrorist. Behind the Music, the MTV show, will have a new version with the forty greatest artists of all time, as well as The Game.
