St. Petersburg SKA Miro Aaltonen hit a hat trick on Sunday as the team knocked down Neftehimik Nizhnekamski, who struggled with corona infections, 5-2.
Aaltonen scored two superiority goals in the second set. More was promised in the final round, when the Finnish striker struck 5–2 with even-numbered readings.
Aaltonen has scored 3 + 3 in five matches this season.
The realization of the match was already a surprise in itself, as the corona test of four members of the Neftehimik team gave a positive result earlier this week. Friday’s match against Dinamo Riga was postponed.
However, Neftehimik justified playing the SKA match on the grounds that before the Helsinki-Riga trip all members of the club were tested twice and all the results were negative. The team was also tested on Friday, and the results on Saturday were negative.
Neftehimik played against the Jokers in Helsinki on Wednesday. In Finland, the health authorities have quarantined the Jokers because of the match.
Finnish powers were also seen elsewhere when Salavat Yulayev Ufa defeated Avangard Omsk 3–2. The team’s salary king Teemu Hartikainen scored two goals.
Ufa took the lead to 0-0 after just 23 seconds of play. Hartikainen put more steam on the stove after 10 minutes. The hit was fed by Finnish strikers Markus Granlund and Sakari Manninen.
Manninen also served the puck to the shoulder at the beginning of the second set, when Hartikainen hit his second hit. After the Hartikainen match, the Ufa players rewarded the best player with a fur hat.
– The first really good game from us. We have to continue in the same way, the Finnish summed up.

Hartikainen has started his KHL season promisingly. The Finnish roller has made powers 4 + 2 in five matches. Granlund, who moved from the NHL to the Eastern League, already has six (3 + 3) power points.
