The Veikkausliiga Regular Series is coming to an end. Turku Palloseura is still fighting hard for its league place. On Saturday, TPS grabbed a 1-0 home win over SJK.

TPS is still in the qualifying spot, in 11th place, but it can still overtake IFK Mariehamn in the final round. The Ålanders have two matches left and the team has two points barren from TPS.

The hero of TPS was Mika Ääritalo, who scored a scoring goal after 48 minutes. Extreme House, 35, will end his long playing career in Wednesday’s final round in Kuopio. The TPS legend also broke the 300-match limit in the Veikkausliiga this season.

AC Oulu, which holds the top spot, was already firmly attached to the Veikkausliiga promotion. The people of Oulu won the EIF 2–1 in Ekenäs.

At the same time, the second KTP lost to AC Kajaani 1–4. KTP has two more matches left to play, but AC Oulu has one point enough to secure the top spot in a week’s time on Sunday.

FF Jaro, who was fighting for the qualifying place, lost to MuSa 1–3 and is tied with KTP.

Gnistan from Helsinki crushed KPV as many as 5–0 at home. At the same time, it was confirmed that Gnista will be seen in Ykkönen next season as well. AC Kajaani, SJK Academy and MyPa travel down the series.
