Mick Schumacher will take part in the first training session of the Eifel Grand Prix. The son of the seven-time world champion will sit behind the wheel of an Alfa Romeo, replacing Antonio Giovinazzi for an hour and a half.
Mick Schumacher: “I am very happy to have the opportunity to take part in the free races. The fact that my first time in an official Formula 1 session will take place in front of my home fans at the Nurburgring makes it all the more special. I am grateful to Alfa Romeo Racing and the Ferrari Racing Academy for the opportunity to return behind the wheel of Formula 1 after a year and a half after our joint tests in Bahrain.
Over the next ten days, I will be preparing to do the best job possible and gather information for the team that will be useful during the weekend. ”
Frederick Wasser, Team Leader: “There is no doubt that Mick is one of the brightest talents in the youth series right now, and his recent performance is evidence of this. He is fast and stable at the wheel, he has all the qualities of a future champion.
Mick impressed with his approach and work ethic when he collaborated with us last year. We look forward to working with him at the Nurburgring. ”
