Lionel Messi has bitten off on Wednesday at questions from the Spanish press. The five-time Golden Ball winner says he feels that he is often blamed for problems at FC Barcelona and is done with that.
Messi returned to Barcelona after international matches with Argentina and was met at the airport by the press, who confronted him with statements by the ex-agent of Antoine Griezmann, his teammate in Spain.
Griezmann’s former agent recently said in French media that Messi has a “deplorable attitude” and rules everything at Barcelona. He also stated that the star player has never been behind Griezmann’s arrival.
“I’m tired of always being blamed for all the problems at Barcelona,” said 33-year-old Messi at the airport, where he was confronted by journalists with those statements.
Messi has had troubled months with Barcelona, the club where he has played his entire career. He informed the club management that he wanted to leave after a very disappointing season.
When a transfer turned out to be complicated, the Argentinian decided to stay. In the team of coach Ronald Koeman, however, he is not as dominant as before, which, just like last season, comes to criticism.
