Takata airbag failure recalls

The propellant of the airbags manufactured by the Japanese company does not open the airbags as intended as a result of environmental influences, which therefore deploy either too slowly or too fast. In the former case, they provide insufficient protection, in the latter there is a risk that the airbag shards will be flown into the passenger compartment at high speed. Both possibilities can lead to serious injuries.
