Quebecman Leylah Annie Fernandez was eliminated in the second round of a tennis match in Charleston, USA on Wednesday.

Fernandez won his first WTA Tour Championship in Monterrey, Mexico last month, but the speed of the game slowed slightly. Eliminated in Miami qualifying, she had a good start in Charleston and defeated Chinese player Zhang Shuai in the first round.

However, after a long duel of 2 hours and 15 minutes, Kovinic still showed a chance to withdraw from Québécoise. Fernandez faced 14 break points in that game and saved the game seven times.
