Leicester City took the lead in the Premier League on Sunday. The 2016 champion won 1-0 at home against Wolverhampton Wanderers and passed Tottenham Hotspur back in the rankings. Earlier in the day, the ‘Spurs’ defeated West Bromwich Albion 0-1.

Jamie Vardy signed for the only goal of the afternoon after fifteen minutes of play from the penalty spot. The 33-year-old Vardy was allowed to moor again from 11 meters five minutes before half-time, but this time saw his effort turned by Wolverhampton goalkeeper Rui Patrício.

Leicester City now has eighteen points after eight matches and that’s one point more than Tottenham Hotspur, which took three points thanks to Harry Kane on a visit to West Brom.

Tottenham Hotspur’s goal came in the 88th minute. After a cross from Matt Doherty, de Kane headed the ball just in front of West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone in the far corner. It was the third league victory in a row for Tottenham, where Steven Bergwijn was not in the selection.

Liverpool can still conquer first place later on Sunday. The title holder will visit Manchester City at 5.30 pm. At 8.15 p.m. Arsenal will still play at home against Aston Villa.
