Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James asked the residents of his hometown, Akron, Ohio, for help finding a killer. This Wednesday, James reported through his Twitter account that the sister of one of his best friends had been murdered in his home over the weekend.
The four-time NBA champion begged the residents of this city to help him “find out who did this horrible, shameful and disgusting thing with such a caring and loving angel,” he said on his Twitter account.
According to ABC5 Cleveland reports, Ericka Weems She was found dead at her home in Akron on Monday after friends and family were unable to contact her and were concerned for her safety.
After the 37-year-old woman was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head, her death was declared a homicide, although there are still no suspects in the case.
Weems ‘younger brother, Brandon, is one of James’ closest friends and someone the 16-time NBA All-Star has described in the past as his “younger brother.”
“I make sure to take care of him,” James said in 2015 of Brandon Weems. “He’s my little brother.” The two grew up together and were teammates at St. Vincent-St. Mary.
During his adult life they always stuck together, and Weems even took on a role with the Cleveland Cavaliers during James’ second season with that franchise.
“My brother’s family needs answers about why and who,” Lebron concluded in his message.
