Korona has been a global tragedy, but there are a number of people who have benefited from it: billionaires.

On average, each billionaire got 27.5 percent rich from April to July this year, according to a study by Swiss bank UBS.

Industrial bosses, and especially technology billionaires, got the most rich. The value of their property increased by as much as 41 percent.

This is mainly due to the sharp rise in stock prices.

– The reason is that Korona has increased the demand for their companies’ products and services, says the UBS report.

China is growing billionaires

China is currently the land promised by billionaires, and there will be more and more of them, whether in Korona or not. Over the past 11 years, the wealth of Chinese billionaires has grown by 1,146 percent.

At the same time, for example, the value of the assets of British billionaires has hurt “only” 168 per cent, he writes BBC.

Billionaires also donate

Of course, many billionaires have donated their assets to the fight against the corona.

– In the study, we found 209 billionaires who have committed to finance the fight against the koruna with a total of 6.1 billion euros, says UBS.

– They have reacted quickly, in the same way as natural disasters. They have let the recipients of the funding decide for themselves how the money will be used in the best possible way.
