Ronald Koeman was defeated with FC Barcelona on Saturday in the La Liga top match against Atlético Madrid. The Dutch coach saw his team lose 1-0 in Estadio Wanda Metropolitano. Real Madrid lost points on a visit to Villarreal: 1-1.
Real loses points at Villarreal
Yannick Carrasco was crowned match winner at Atlético against Barcelona. The Belgian received the help of goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen, who had come far from his goal and hit the ball wrong. Carrasco took advantage and found the empty goal from about 25 meters.
Gerard Piqué dropped out of Barcelona after an hour of play. The experienced defender injured his knee and was unable to continue. He was replaced by Sergiño Dest.
Frenkie de Jong completed the ninety minutes at Barcelona. Luis Suárez was missing from Atlético due to a corona infection.
Barcelona suffered its third defeat of the season and can be found in tenth place. Atlético occupies the second place and has as many points as leader Real Sociedad, which has played one more game.

Real took the lead at Villarreal after two minutes. Mariano Díaz, who started in the striker as a replacement for the injured Karim Benzema, hit home from a cross by Dani Carvajal.

Real lost points for the fourth time this season. ‘De Koninklijke’ went down 4-1 at Valencia in the last game before the international period. Earlier this season, they lost at home to newly promoted Cádiz (0-1) and played a draw at Real Sociedad (1-1).
Luuk de Jong did win with Sevilla in the home match against Celta de Vigo: 4-2. The Orange-international played the last 22 minutes, but was unable to find the goal. De Jong saw his teammates Jules Koundé, Youssef En-Nesyri, Sergio Escudero and Munir El Haddadi score. Sevilla is in the sub top.
