The match between Young PSV and SC Cambuur in the Kitchen Champion Division is canceled on Monday evening. The KNVB has moved the game because of the many corona infections among the Eindhoven residents.
PSV’s main force also affected by coronavirus
It is not yet known how many players of Jong PSV are infected with the COVID-19 virus. The KNVB wants to continue matches if clubs can mobilize at least thirteen players, but the Eindhoven team has not succeeded.
“Despite a large number of absentees on our side, we would have liked to play, but we all know what special times we are currently living in”, says general director Ard de Graaf van Cambuur. Twitter.
“There are clear limits set before the season and if the number of infections at Jong PSV is so high, there is nothing else to do. We wish everyone at (Jong) PSV a lot of improvement and hope that we can catch up with the game as soon as possible. “
The corona outbreak at the PSV promises is no big surprise, because the main force also misses many players due to the virus. PSV therefore did not want to take action against ADO Den Haag (4-0 victory) on Sunday, but the KNVB rejected that request, to the anger of general director Toon Gerbrands and trainer Roger Schmidt.
PSV missed no fewer than nine players who tested positive for the COVID-19 virus against ADO. “The KNVB knows that”, Schmidt grumbled. “They say we still have enough players to play every three days. I don’t think they know anything about football.”
Due to the cancellation of Jong PSV-Cambuur, there is only one game on the program in the Kitchen Champion Division on Monday evening: Young AZ receives Telstar.
