Ricardo Kishna returns to the selection of ADO Den Haag on Saturday after a long absence. The attacker was struggling with serious injuries and mental problems.
ADO is in crisis
Kishna played his last game for ADO in September 2017. The attacker then tore off the front cruciate ligament in one knee against Ajax. In the 2018/2019 season, Kishna was twice on the reserve bench, but it did not come to a raid.
Earlier this month, 25-year-old Kishna said he was struggling with depression and anxiety attacks. The former youth international was considered a great talent in the past. In 2015 he switched from Ajax to Lazio, but partly due to injuries, Kishna was unable to break through in Italy.
Since the summer of 2017, Kishna (initially on a rental basis) has been playing for ADO, but due to his problems, he did not get further than two games.
The winger resumed group training at the end of October. Broadcaster West reports that he can make playing minutes on Saturday for the first time in 1,168 days.
ADO is in a serious sporting crisis. The club recently fired trainer Aleksandar Rankovic and in the first match under his successor Ruud Brood last week lost 6-0 to Sparta Rotterdam.
Heerenveen is going through a strong season and occupies sixth place in the Eredivisie after nine matches. ADO-Heerenveen starts on Saturday at 8 p.m.
