At the last stage in Mugello, Kimi Raikkonen earned his first points of the season. The Alfa Romeo driver hopes to finish in the top ten in Sochi too …

Frederick Wasser, Team Leader: “We go to Russia with the long-awaited confidence gained from our result in Mugello. The two points earned not only improved morale, but also gave confidence, because the result was achieved on a badly damaged car.

The last series of built stages showed that we have made several obvious steps forward, and now we need to build on the success in order to continue the fight with the teams of the middle group. A smooth racing weekend is critical to maximize our potential. We are looking forward to the stage in Sochi with confidence ”.

Kimi Raikkonen: “For some reason I don’t have many fond memories of racing in Sochi – usually I had no luck on this track. But I’m not one of those who often remember the past – I’m focused on how to have a good weekend and get the most out of the car.

In several previous Grand Prix, I went to the second part of qualification – this suggests that we are not lagging behind rivals and can fight for points. This is the goal this weekend as well.

Antonio Giovinazzi: “I look forward to getting back behind the wheel this weekend as I still feel disappointed from the last race. In the example of Kimi, we saw that the car has the potential for a good result, but in Mugello my race, in fact, only lasted one turn. I want to get back behind the wheel, on Saturday to go to the second part of qualification, and on Sunday to earn points.

I performed only once in Sochi – last year. The experience turned out to be unsuccessful – I was caught between the rivals on the first lap, after which I had to go to the pits for repairs. I have not finished everything in Sochi – and this year I want to do everything right. “
