Kimi Raikkonen leaves for Imola GP from box 18. Alfa Romeo’s Finnish veteran had a chance to do much better, but the driving error was fatal.

The last bet of Saturday’s time trial in Q1 was really hard for Räikkönen. He rose to 11th on the leaderboard.

However, the tour was soon abandoned. The re-pictures showed that Räikkönen crossed the track boundary on the 15th bend.

As a result, the Finnish driver’s ranking collapsed. A surprised Raikkonen was disgruntled decision team radio and was of the opinion that one side of the tires were still on the rim. However, a sensor on the bottom of the car had indicated that Alfa Romeo had crossed the line.

The wonder also continued at the interview point. He was asked if the track boundary rules were too strict.

– Not really, but the border is the border and the border is the border. Apparently we (Räikkönen and the jury) have a different view of it, Räikkönen said.

The Iceman was not very optimistic about Sunday’s race.

– This seems like an awkward race track, but let’s see how it goes tomorrow, Räikkönen said and left.

He grabbed the pole position Valtteri Bottas before a Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamiltonia.
