Kevin Magnussen has never played in Imola, where the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix will take place this weekend. The Haas rider prepares for a challenging stage but expects an exciting race.

Q: Imola will host the first official two-day Formula 1 weekend. Does the fact that you only have one hour and a half practice before qualifying increases the pressure?
Kevin Magnussen: The stage at the Nurburgring also turned out to be two days, although not intentionally. That race was pretty exciting. I hope it will be the same in Imola. Of course, less preparation time adds a bit of pressure as you need to get ready faster, but I think it’s great.

Q: Do you like that this year Formula 1 is coming to new tracks?
Kevin Magnussen: Yes, I like. It’s great to see some new tracks. The races had to take into account a larger number of unknowns, as a result, teams had problems with strategies, and some riders were wrong. The season was eventful and some of the races were particularly spectacular. In my opinion, this is great.

Q: Which track do you miss the most this year?
Kevin Magnussen: Of course, Monaco and Japan. These two races have always been the highlight of the season. Piloting on these tracks for various reasons differs from performances on other circuits. Monaco has a great track and a very busy weekend.

Question: You have never performed in Imola. What do you know about this track?
Kevin Magnussen: Imola is a new track for me, and I will have to quickly learn it, because we have only one training session. An interesting challenge awaits me.

I know that Imola has a cool track – as a child, I always watched Formula 1 races on it on TV. I am glad that, finally, I will come to this circuit myself.
