Joel Pohjanpalo will transfer from Bayer Leverkusen to Union Berlin with a loan agreement. The Berlin Society confirmed the transfer on Wednesday.

The agreement also includes a call option.

Pohjanpalo, who was also selected for the Huuhkaji team on Tuesday, transferred to HSV in the 2nd Bundesliga last January. There were successes, as the Finnish striker scored nine goals in 14 matches.

In Leverkusen, playing time has been low. In the opening match, Pohjanpalo reached the field for five minutes. The Finnish striker has been Leverkusen’s contract player since 2014, but previously also played for Fortuna Düsseldorf on loan.

Union Berlin is in 14th place in the Bundesliga. The team has scored just one point out of two matches this season.
