Jerry Harris, 21 years old, protagonist of the documentary series Cheer, produced by Netflix, was arrested Thursday on serious charges of producing child pornography.

The arrest came three days after a pair of twins filed a lawsuit that Harris sent them sexually explicit photos of himself, and cornered one of them in a bathroom and begged him to give him oral sex.

According to the complaint, after FBI agents raided his home on Monday, Harris admitted during questioning that he had asked one of the teens to send him photos and videos of his penis and buttocks on Snapchat. He also admitted that he asked him for similar materials repeatedly, between December 2018 and March this year.

Likewise, the complaint states that Harris admitted that requested and received child pornography on Snapchat of “at least 10 to 15 other individuals who he knew were minors.” FBI agents were photographed Monday leaving a home in the suburb of Naperville, outside Chicago, which according to USA Today it was Harris’ house.

The boy’s mother told the newspaper that she and her children had spoken to the FBI, and the lawsuit alleges that she also filed a complaint with the Fort Worth police, the FBI and other authorities. The lawsuit alleges that the mother contacted authorities after seeing messages from Harris on the cell phone of one of her children.

Harris, 21, starred in a show that followed the cheerleading team from Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas, who were looking to win a national competition.

In interviews with USA Today At their home in Texas, the boys, now 14 years old, described a pattern of bullying both online and at cheerleading competitions that started when they were 13 and Harris 19. And they assured that this continued throughout more than a year.

In addition to accusing Harris of inappropriate sexual behavior, the lawsuit adds that cheerleading organizations failed by not protect the boys. The organizations named in the lawsuit are the US All Star Federation, which governs competitive sports entertainment; Varsity Spirit, which runs cheerleading competitions; and Cheer Athletics, a chain of gyms.

A representative for Varsity, in Aug. 1 letters sent to police in Florida and Texas, said the organization had learned of allegations of “sexual misconduct” against Harris, reported USA Today.

Meanwhile, Cheer Athletics owner Angela Rogers told the newspaper that she learned of the allegations in mid-May and reported them to the police.

Cheer It was an instant hit when it debuted in January this year, and Harris won over fans with his positive attitude and encouraging talks. At the beginning of the year, he interviewed celebrities on the red carpet at the Oscars to The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
