It seems that the career of Giuliano Alesi, the son of former Ferrari driver Jean Alesi, is nearing completion, or at least in the future it will not develop as originally intended.
The Swiss tabloid Blick quotes Alesi Sr., who was forced to admit: “We have no sponsors for 2021, my son was expelled from the Ferrari Racing Academy and I am no longer able to find money privately. I even had to sell my Ferrari F40!
We made the mistake of betting on the HWA team in 2020, paying them over a million euros. But no promises were kept. When we moved to MP Motorsport, HWA demanded another 80,000 euros from us. “
There are no official statements on this yet, and the name Giuliano Alesi is still listed among the listeners of the Ferrari Racing Academy (FDA), and in September in Sochi he was still in a red uniform.
However, he really cannot be categorized as “excellent”: one stage before the end of the season in Formula 2, Giuliano is only 17th in the individual competition of the youth series, gaining only 8 points, while more promising FDA listeners have achieved significant success.
Mick Schumacher leads the championship, Callum Ilott is second, Russian driver Robert Schwartzman is fifth.
