Iran has issued an international arrest warrant against none other than Donald Trump. They want to prosecute the US President, as well as other US officials, for his alleged involvement in the death of Qassem Soleimani, the Iranian general who died in an airstrike.
Soleimani was a hero to many in Iran. The chief of the army was very popular, partly because of his continuous fight against ISIS. At the beginning of this year, the general died in a missile attack at the airport of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. The Pentagon then confirmed that US President Donald Trump was giving orders for the attack. And that is apparently not yet digested.

Iran has now issued an arrest warrant against the president, chief prosecutor Ali Alqasi-Mehr said. Iran is also said to have asked Interpol to put all those involved, including Trump, on the international criminal investigation list. There is little chance that the organization will do that effectively. After all, a request to put someone on the list should never be of a political nature.
The White House has not yet responded.
