After defeating Jose de Jesus Macias in January, Stephen Butler asked himself for a few weeks. However, he soon discovered that his enthusiasm for boxing was still high.
“I listened to the battle several times to see what went wrong. My preparation and sacrifice are comparable to what I did in the World Championships.”
Later, he had a meeting with his early coach Rénald Boisvert.
He continued: “Talking to him is very good for me.” He has always been a trustworthy person for me. I saw that he was still confident in me and my abilities. “
“Finally, he asked me:’Do you still want to suffer, make sacrifices and fight?’ The answer is yes. Then I got confirmation in the gym.”
When can he prepare to return to the game?
“If possible, at the dinner on May 15th! I trust my consultant to determine the right time. In the next few days, I have to work with Rénald and my promoter Camille Camille Estephan sat down and planned my return.”
“I already know that I will fight in the base map, and the task will be to rebuild. I will face opponents that allow me to improve.”
After several meetings, Butler decided to stay in Mike Moffa’s gym for a few months before transferring the position of head coach to Boisvert.
“This is a destination,” the disciple of the Tiger Eyes management organization added. I want to return to my natural style, which is based on my punch.
“For Mike, this has been a year of study, and I am grateful for it. He took good care of me, but I gave up the style of success.”
He also added two new members to the team: his father Clint and Vincent Auclair.
